Construction Site Boundary Changes
Site boundary tracking is mostly a records problem: the boundary moves for legitimate reasons, and the value is in a defensible timeline.
Overview
- Capture each period as a dated, georeferenced evidence set rather than a single edited outline.
- Keep the original imagery alongside the derived boundary so the outline can be re-drawn if needed.
- Distinguish cleared area, occupied area and permitted area — they are three different boundaries.
- Where the record may be used in a dispute, preserve capture metadata unaltered.
