Visual Reporting for Engineering Projects
A visual report is read by people who were not on site. It succeeds when a non-specialist can point at a location and a date and see what changed.
Overview
- Lead with the change, not the method. The flight parameters belong in an annex.
- Use paired views — before and after, same framing — rather than a gallery of unrelated images.
- Put a scale and an orientation on every drawing; an unoriented plan is decoration.
- State what was not observed as clearly as what was, so absence of a finding is not read as clearance.
