Prototype Development Process
A prototype exists to answer a question. If it is not clear which question, it will be built twice.
Overview
- State the question each prototype iteration is meant to answer, and what result would change the design.
- Prototypes are built for iteration speed, not for durability — do not let prototype choices become production choices by default.
- Document what was learned, including the dead ends.
- Decide in advance which parts of the prototype are intended to carry into production.
