Pilot Batch Trial and Issue Closure
A pilot batch is a controlled exposure to reality. Its output is a defect list with owners and a decision on production readiness.
Overview
- Define the pilot's success criteria before it starts, and the exit criteria for ending it early.
- Log every issue with severity, frequency and the condition under which it occurs.
- Separate design issues from training issues — they have different fixes and different owners.
- Close the loop on every logged issue before scaling: open, deferred and rejected are all decisions, but they must be recorded.
