Project Requirement Discovery
Requirement discovery is where the project cost is actually decided. A requirement written as a wish is priced as a risk.
Overview
- Interview the people who will operate the system, not only the people who are buying it.
- Convert every wish into a measurable statement, or mark it explicitly as unquantified.
- Capture what the system must not do; exclusions prevent most late-stage disputes.
- Confirm the acceptance authority at the same meeting as the requirements.
