Interface and Integration Testing
Interface testing is done against the specification and against reality. The gap between them is the whole point of the exercise.
Overview
- Test on the bench, then test on the platform, then test in the environment — three different test suites, not one repeated.
- Inject the failure cases: loss of link, loss of power, delayed data, out-of-range values.
- Record every test with its configuration, so a pass can be reproduced.
- Do not accept "it worked once" as evidence; repeat counts matter.
