Checking Test Reports and Their Scope
A test report is only evidence within its own scope. Read the scope before you read the result.
Overview
- Identify the sample: was it the delivered configuration, a prototype, or a different variant.
- Identify the conditions: temperature, load, and whether the test was on a bench or in free air.
- Check the date and the revision of the unit tested; a report on revision A does not cover revision B.
- Confirm who performed the test and to which standard, and whether the lab is accredited for it.
