Serial Number and Delivery Traceability
Traceability is the ability to answer a question about a specific unit two years after it was shipped, without guessing.
Overview
- A serial number links the unit to its build record, its configuration baseline and its test results.
- Field changes and maintenance are recorded against the same number.
- The record is retained for the support period, and handed to the client at delivery.
- Where a unit is reworked, the original record is kept rather than replaced.
