Incoming Component Inspection
Incoming inspection is cheap and it is done before assembly, where correcting a problem is still inexpensive.
Overview
- Components are checked against specification: dimensions, markings, ratings and documentation.
- Results are recorded against the batch and, where applicable, the serial number.
- Non-conforming items are segregated and dispositioned in writing, not returned informally.
- Suppliers who repeatedly fail incoming inspection are removed from the approved list, not re-inspected harder.
