Flight Test Scheduling
Flight test scheduling is a weather problem with an engineering dependency. Plan both, and keep a reserve.
Overview
- Sequence the tests so that a weather-limited day still allows progress on the bench-dependent items.
- Book more windows than the plan requires; the constraining factor is usually consecutive suitable days.
- Each flight test has a stated purpose and a record; a flight with no question attached is a cost, not a test.
- Airspace, site access and observer arrangements are on the critical path before the aircraft is.
