Combining Thermal and Visible Light
Thermal finds, visible explains. Using only one of the two produces either unexplained hot spots or defects nobody noticed.
Overview
- Capture both in the same sortie at the same position, so the two images describe the same thing.
- Thermal screening narrows the review; visible imagery is what a technician recognises.
- Some defects are visible-only and some are thermal-only; neither modality is a substitute for the other.
- Store the pairing explicitly — an unmatched thermal frame loses much of its value.
