Planning from Pilot to Volume Delivery
The step from a working pilot to repeatable delivery is a manufacturing and process step, not a technical one.
Overview
- Write the production configuration down and freeze it; a pilot that keeps changing cannot be volume-delivered.
- Identify which steps are still dependent on a specific individual, and remove that dependency.
- Build the test fixtures and acceptance routine before the volume order, not during it.
- Plan the spares and support commitment at the same time as the delivery schedule.
