System Solution Design
System design starts with the decision, then the data, then the platform. Designing in the other order produces equipment that is procured but not used.
Overview
- State the decision the system supports, and what a wrong decision costs.
- Derive the observation requirement from that decision: what must be seen, from where, how often.
- Only then choose the platform, payload and software combination.
- Check the whole chain, including who reads the output and what they do with it.
