Payload Integration Methods
Payload integration is treated as four interfaces at once — mechanical, electrical, data and thermal — because a payload fails through whichever one is addressed last.
Overview
- Mechanical: mounting interface, rigidity, clearances through the full range of motion.
- Electrical: power envelope, protection, and behaviour under simultaneous load.
- Data: message set, units, timing convention and coordinate frame, agreed in writing.
- Thermal: continuous-load behaviour of both the payload and the surrounding structure.
- Documentation for each interface is delivered with the unit.
