Assisted Detection of Solar PV Thermal Anomalies
Thermal screening over a PV array is a fast way to sort thousands of identical components into "looks normal" and "worth a closer look". It is a sorting tool, not a diagnosis.
Overview
- Output is a ranked list of suspected anomalies with their location, so a technician can visit the right row first.
- Every flagged item stays a candidate until a person confirms it on site — the detection step never closes a work order by itself.
- Camera angle relative to the module surface changes apparent temperature; capture geometry is part of the record.
- Detections are compared against the previous inspection so that new items are separated from known ones.
Detection output is a screening signal. Confirmation and severity judgement remain an on-site inspection decision.
