Quality Management Principles
Quality here means the same thing twice, not a certificate on a wall. The principles below are the ones that decide whether that happens.
Overview
- Configuration is fixed before build, and every change is recorded against that baseline.
- Incoming components are inspected against specification, with results held against the serial number.
- Every unit is functionally checked on the ground before it is released for flight test.
- Records are kept so that a delivered unit's history can be reconstructed, not just its current state.
- Where a parameter depends on conditions, the conditions are stated with it — a figure without its condition is not a quality claim.
Production operates under a documented quality management system; documentation available under NDA during supplier qualification.
