Project Service Process
Every project follows the same seven stages. The stage names are less important than the fact that acceptance criteria are agreed at stage three, before any development starts.
Overview
- 1. Requirement discovery — what the system must do, measured, in the operator's terms.
- 2. Feasibility assessment — including a clear answer when something is not feasible.
- 3. Scope and acceptance confirmation — deliverables, exclusions, and the change mechanism, in writing.
- 4. Prototype development — built to answer specific questions, documented as it goes.
- 5. Interface integration and testing — bench, then platform, then environment.
- 6. Field testing and acceptance — in real conditions, against the agreed criteria.
- 7. Delivery, training and support — including the handover of documentation, spares and the support route.
